Real film cells rescued from the trash and re-purposed; this handcrafted item is one of a kind, from a bygone era that once had its run in an old movie house. Here is a chance to own a piece of actual film. You will receive a real 35mm strip of film from an old Hollywood movie. It ran through a projector and showed on the silver screen.
As movie theaters make the transition from film to digital, 35mm film is slowly disappearing. What’s left is archived, privately collected, or discarded. These images have been re-purposed from film history, being given another viewing – one strip at a time.
The strip of film is made up of 5 continuous frames. It is contained in a protective archival film sleeve. No PVC, and safe for long-term storage. We’ve attached the strip to an I.D. card with the name of the film and year of release. It is attached with a single metal rivet.
These strips are created by three New York City projectionists who discovered that 35mm film was slowly disappearing in this digital age. They rescued reels of film from being thrown away and re-purposed into this genuine collectible. (There are slight variances from image to image as film travels 24 frames per second.)
IMPORTANT: Do not leave in direct sunlight; Sunlight will fade image.
